For those who have missed everything...

Well, last year Sophie was all set to release a GH album with 10 singles plus 2 new songs - Heartbreak Make Me A Dancer (recorded with The Freemasons) and Off & On (recorded with Calvin Harris). She continued recording more songs working with Richard X and a few other producers and her record company were impressed with her new material, so they decided to release another album instead. Eventually she uploaded both these songs onto her MySpace so everyone could listen and comment (both songs are offline now).

Split Second Love, the original title of the album, was scheduled for a release early this year but it got pushed back because Sophie got pregnant (she's not anymore. She gave birth 9 weeks early, and both baby and mother are doing alright. God bless) and prior to that she was busy modeling for Rimmel London. Sophie recorded a bunch of tracks including Sophia Loren, which was co-written with Cathy Dennis and produced by Christopher Rojas. The song also features as a back-track on one of the Rimmel ads. A snippet of the song leaked online (which i've been listening to lately, cos i'm really bored and i want new Sophie material out). Sophie decided to release this song as a single, and started to film a video for it, but then they had to stop because she was pregnant and couldn't carry on with the pressure.

Richard X posted on his site that he was still working on the middle-8 of a song called "I Still Believe In Magic" for Sophie. So that song, again, was presumed to be a part of this album. I remember some fan who received a personal confirmation from Sophie also telling me that a song called Magic will be on the album. This may be the same song.

Inside sources later revealed that Sophie recorded two songs called Still Mixed Up and Music Took My Man (the latter seems to be from the TTLF sessions). The same source later confirmed to me that Sophie was handed a demo of a song called Moving Cities, which didn't get past the demo stage, and the same was the case with a song called Carnival. Rumours sprung up on the internet that Sophie's 4th album won't feature the two songs which were the pioneers for the album. Following the rumours was the anouncement by Freemasons that they would release Heartbreak Make Me A Dancer, not the one which leaked to the internet, but a whole new version of the song.

Sophie had also worked with Junior Caldera during her GH sessions and a song called Can't Fight This Feeling, which was the outcome of the work, leaked onto the internet just a few days ago. This will be Caldera's next single, and not a part of Sophie's album.

Recently, Fascination added a song called Synchronised, co-written with Ina Wroldsen.

Calvin Harris, recently confirmed to a fan of Twitter that he won't release Off & On on his upcoming album. But he didn't mention that the song would still make it onto the final cut of Sophie's album. Hopefully, his other collaboration with her, Calling It Love makes it onto the final tracklist.

This is basically whats been happening from the past few months. Keep your eyes peeled for two releases shortly. Sophie will resume her work when Kit Valentine (her 2nd baby boy) gets back home. We are going to have a few more Rimmel adverts rolling out before Sophie's album comes out.

EDIT - I completely forgot to mention that she has collaborated with Groove Armada, Liam (from Sneaker Pimps), Dimitri (she worked with him on If I Can't Dance) and Greg Alexander (another Murder On The Dancefloor please...), Metronomy, The Hoosiers, Matt Prime etc.,

;) If I remember correctly, they send her the tune then she wrote lyrics with Hannah Robinson.
And there's also another song but I don't remember the writer, Sophie mentioned it in one of the updates.

On the official website, last interview with Sophie, she mentioned Metronomy and a song with Ed Harcourt, I found it! :D

oh, yea Ed Harcourt. I remember reading it... Sophie Update 09 right?? He seems to be a little "alternative", is he??? He covers The Ramones' songs, he was on tour with KT Tunstall... maybe Sophie is trying to go indie again...
