Sophie and make-up bags

Bright coloured dresses, pale skin and auburn hair are a bad combination. These pictures would have look stunning with her normal dark and short hair. She looks a lot like Madonna in the picture with thr red frock.

Apart from designing make-up bags, Sophie is also designing shoes for Dorothy Perkins for the "Stand Tall" campaign, along with Kelly Osbourne and Alexandra Burke. Some of the proceeds from the sale will be siphoned off to Breast Cancer Care.

And here's the article about the make-up bags.
POP starlet Sophie Ellis-Bextor and top British designers Zandra Rhodes, PPQ, William Tempest and Olivia Rubin have come up with this gorgeous range of make-up bags.

The limited edition bags, will be available from tomorrow exclusively on feelunique.com, and are shown in a series of stunning images featuring Sophie Ellis Bextor - who is famous for striking a pose.

Proceeds from each sale will be donated to Look Good…Feel Better, a unique charity offering women with cancer, free skincare and make-up workshops with trained beauty professionals.

The cases, keenly priced at £9.99, will offer consumers the chance to buy a small piece of designer luxury at an affordable price, while contributing to a worthwhile cause.

Sophie said about her new venture: “This campaign is very close to my heart and will make a tangible difference to the day to day lives of women with cancer."

“The beauty cases are absolutely fabulous and a great way to grab a bit of designer luxury at a high street price – I’ll be investing in one of each design!”

Sophie + MS Xbox Kinect

Mama Bex is going to be associated with Kinect for Xbox 360. I think this is a good thing for her. If she has a single out in November, this could be some sort of promo for her. "Murder On The Dancefloor" is already listed as one of the confirmed songs to be on the game. But i wish they add a couple of her new songs. Especially Revolution, cos it sounds like an amazing song to dance to. And the Freemasons Mix of Bittersweet and Heartbreak Make Me A Dancer. Oh and Groovejet, how can they miss that song!?

ORIGINAL ARTICLE: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=266141?cid=OTC-RSS&attr=CVG-News-RSS

Microsoft's announced a new competition, which will see the Xbox 360 motion controller coming to towns, villages, schools or even back gardens up and down the country on the Kinect Tour.

It's called "Kinect Comes To You" and gamers can champion a particular stop off for Kinect on its nation-wide ramble, simply by telling Microsoft why Kinect should come to their chosen location.

Submit entries via the official Facebook site at www.facebook.com/KinectForXbox360 by October 6, 2010 to be in with a chance of flailing in front of Kinect before launch.

The three most "compelling and creative" entries will be chosen by a judging panel of UK marketing boss, Stephen McGill, Rare Studios boss, Nick Burton and erm, Sophie Ellis Bextor.

"I'm really excited to be announcing 'Kinect Comes to You', where we're giving someone the chance to experience Kinect, before it hits the shops," the sultry songstress said in the announcement.

"Whoever wins this opportunity I'm sure, like me, will have a great time experiencing the amazing world of Kinect!"

Whether or not you'd like Sophie Ellis Bextor turning up at your front door is, of course, a question of taste. She divides opinion in our office, anyway.

The following dates are already set for the Kinect Tour:
Ireland National Ploughing Champs - September 20th - 26th
Liverpool City Centre - September 25th
Manchester - September 26th
Bristol - October 16th
Cardiff - October 17th
Edinburgh - October 30th
Glasgow - October 31st
Newcastle - November 13th
Leeds - November 14th

With four (count 'em) dancing games announced for Kinect, it's most likely then that you'll start seeing people dancing at TV screens in town over the next few months.

Universal has announced it will be publishing Dance Paradise, another dancing game for Microsoft's Kinect peripheral. Dance Paradise joins Harmonix's Dance Central, Konami's Dance Masters and Ubisoft's Michael Jackson: The Experience as the fourth dancing game for Kinect. Players will able to strut their stuff to 'dance sequences which have been designed for all tastes and all levels'.

Check out the confirmed tracks below:
  • Akon - Bellydancer
  • Caesars - Jerk It Out
  • Cassius - Toop Toop
  • Daft Punk - Around The World
  • David Guetta ft Kelly Rowland - When Love Takes Over
  • Geri Halliwell - It's Raining Men
  • Gwen Stefani - What You Are Waiting For
  • Kool & the Gang - Celebration
  • Lady Gaga - Bad Romance
  • Laroux - Bulletproof
  • Lily Allen - Fuck You
  • MC Hammer - Can't Touch This
  • Mika - We are Golden
  • No Doubt - Hey Baby
  • Pussycat Dolls - When I Grow Up
  • Snoop Dogg ft Pharrell - Beautiful
  • Sophie Ellis Bextor - Murder on the Dancefloor
  • Supergrass - Alright
  • Taio Cruz - Break Your Heart
  • Yelle - À cause des garçons

Sophie's 4th album will be out in November (according to Russian TV)

A Russian fan posted this on PopJustice:
"Last weekend Sophie was in Russia on privacy party. Yesterday I saw news from this party on TV and in the end they said that album will out in NOVEMBER"

Last i heard from someone, they were fixing schedules. Let's not forget, she has a charity gig in November. If Wallace Productions can line up some more PAs for her, she might be able to pull off a single release, followed by the album.

We're not actually clear as to what is going on with the album right now because Peter Loraine is splitting ways with Fascination. Fascination Records will still be a print on Polydor's label, but there has been no official word if Sophie is going to get absorbed back into Polydor, or if she will leave with Loraine. Afterall, Sophie has been Loraine's pet project for 10 years now!

All this is pure speculation. The one thing we do know is that Sophie is promoting the album heavily in Russia. In fact, she is going to be there for four consecutive weekends:
"In Yaroslavl for a show tonight. The first of four consecutive weekends in Russia. Putting the visa to good use..."

Sophie also tweeted about a band called Bertolf covering her latest single with Armin Van Buuren. Here's the live performance on youtube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6V85_Z8qhIM

I'm not the biggest fan of it, but Sophie seems to like it. They don't really do justice to the emotion in the song. It was a good attempt though.

Things aren't looking good at Fascination HQ.

SOURCE: http://www.billboard.biz/bbbiz/content_display/industry/e3i7537afebd91a441caa72f8c6f82d27bd

Peter Loraine, label head of London-based Fascination Records, is to move into management next month with a new venture backed by Universal Music U.K.

Fascination Management's first client will be pop group the Saturdays, whose third album "Headlines" peaked at No. 3 on the official U.K. albums chart. The management firm opens for business on Oct. 4.

Loraine, who started Polydor's pop-focused label Fascination Records in 2006, will be joined at Fascination Management by his current label co-ordinator Adam Klein.

Fascination A&R Manager Pino Pumilia will remain at Polydor. Fascination will continue as an imprint.

Loraine will continue working with as a consultant with Polydor, which he joined in 1998 as artist development manager. He had success with artists such as Girls Aloud, Cheryl Cole, the Saturdays and Sophie Ellis-Bextor and worked on major projects with ABBA including the "Mamma Mia" soundtrack.

Sophierazzi conveys it's best wishes to Loraine and team. Hopefully Sophie will be absorbed back into Polydor Records. This explains why there has been another delay in the album. Let's just hope the album co-incides with her tour. A Christmas release could only mean more sales, or i should properly word it saying "relatively more" sales.

Guess who decided to update their site!?

The official website has finally updated the news column....

Seems to me that Fascination have decided to write off this single to Armin.

Have you got your copy of Armin van Buuren's latest single, 'Not Giving Up On Love' yet? This amazing collaboration with our very own Sophie Ellis-Bextor is out now and ready for your listening pleasure.

Taken from his brand new album 'Mirage', Armin had this to say about how the collab came about: "Actually we wanted to make an instrumental, more electro-related track and ended up in a collab with Sophie Ellis-Bextor. It instantly clicked in my head. This is the right combination. I think the vocal of Sophie is a win!"

It was clear that Sophie was just as excited for the collab to take place - "I am so excited to be releasing a song with Armin. I love what he does and I think 'Not Giving Up' is a wonderful blend of trance and wistful pop. The song suits a sunrise or a dancefloor and it's great to sing. Filming the video in Ibiza was the perfect way to christen the track!"

ORIGINAL POST: http://www.sophieellisbextor.net/news?id=294&msg=1#comments
I won't say i'm surprised. It did nothing for Sophie in her home territory. Shame though, it could have been a hit if it was promoted. Neither Armada nor Fascination took any interest in promoting the song. Can't blame Sophie for this one. No sir!

I wouldn't give Armin all credit for it's success across Europe. I just checked his chart postitions. His last 5 singles have been utter failures. This is his biggest hit since "In And Out Of Love". Anyway, kudos to Armin and Sophie for the hit. I hope Sophie releases her next single soon..

Revolution lyrics (Starlight lyrics were posted last week)

Last week i posted the lyrics to Starlight. Here are the lyrics to Revolution. ENJOY!

The song has a beginning similar to If I Can't Dance, but it's much better. The beginning sounds more like a looped bit of the chorus. Sophie's muffled voice opens the song and then BANG!

------ REVOLUTION ------

Get on the revolution
Get on the revolution
Get on the revolution
Get on the revolution
Get on the revoluiton
Get on the revolution

Bang bang! It's a hold up
You about to give it up
In the boot they're slippin' up
We've been patient long enough ('nough)
It's a hold up
Rebels gonna play it tough
Wreck the deck and needle off
Shut it down and turn it off

Face to face
It's murder on the dance floor
Cut to the chase
Just give us what we came for

Get on the revolution
Get on the revolution
Get on the revolution
(Wreck this club tonight) -
robotic vocals
Get on the revolution
Get on the revolution
Get on the revolution
(Wreck this club tonight)

Own me, own me, own me, own me, own me, own me
(Wreck this club tonight)
Own me, own me, own me, own me, own me, own me
(Wreck this club tonight)

Bang bang! In the club crowd
Better off or down and bow
Chaos holding - what a wow!
Tearing up the sound now
Ow! Shout it out loud
Now we're warming up the ground
Rip the deck and needle up
Shut it down and turn it off

Face to face
It's murder on the dancefloor
Cut to the chase
Just give us what we came for

Get on the revolution
Get on the revolution
Get on the revolution
(Wreck this club tonight)

Get on the revolution
Get on the revolution
Get on the revolution
(Wreck this club tonight)

Own me, own me, own me, own me, own me, own me
(Wreck this club tonight)
Own me, own me, own me, own me, own me, own me
(Wreck this club tonight)

Bang bang it's a hold up
Bang bang it's a hold up

Get on the revolution
Get on the revolution
Get on the revolution
(Wreck this club tonight) -
robotic vocals
Get on the revolution
Get on the revolution
Get on the revolution
(Wreck this club tonight)

Own me, own me, own me, own me, own me, own me
(Wreck this club tonight)
Own me, own me, own me, own me, own me, own me
(Wreck this club tonight)

For those of you who haven't noticed yet, the lyrics to Starlight were posted last week. Once again, i don't have the song, and by posting the lyrics, i don't mean to hint that it will be the next single.

Spilling the beans

Word from the press is that her record company are "fixing up release dates and promo schedules at the moment" (quoting exact words). Words from inside are that the single will be out soon (although, i don't know what "soon" is supposed to mean). She has 2-3 contenders for the single. He didn't reveal which ones they are, but they are probably one of the songs that were sent out to the press or the ones that have been circulated inside Fascination HQ.

Quick recap:
The sampler sent out to the press has five songs: Heartbreak Make Me A Dancer, Bittersweet, Revolution, Starlight, Off And On.
The sampler circulated inside Fascination includes Magic and Synchronised.

AND.... a generous donor emailed the lyrics to Starlight. Before you get really excited and send me emails asking for the song, let me tell you that i don't have it and i haven't heard it. I'm just posting what i received. Also, this doesn't mean that Starlight is going to be the single.

This is what he heard:

(atmospheric effect - synth - drum crash)

Hold a moment in time
And look to the skies
And we are frozen in light
Not a second goes by

Is it a waking dream holding me?
You never really know till you know
In the blink of an eye
Hearts will unite

We are one
Find us under the starlight, starlight, starlight

I could die, right here in your arms
We are one
Ccaught here under the starlight, starlight, starlight

Oh! Cos tonight we found heaven in the dark

No silhouette in my mind
It's just you and I
And as the starlight shines
Bodies are blind

It's so natural, unbreakable
Won't ever let you go, let you go
Hand in my hand
Here till the end

We are one
Find us under the starlight, starlight, starlight

I could die, right here in your arms
We are one
Ccaught here under the starlight, starlight, starlight

Oh! Cos tonight we found heaven in the dark

As the new day rises
Lost in our embrace
WE ARE ONE!!

We are one
Find us under the starlight, starlight, starlight

I could die, right here in your arms
We are one
Ccaught here under the starlight, starlight, starlight

Oh! Cos tonight we found heaven in the dark
