Sophie on Alan Titchmarsh (performance) + Miracle (new song HQ DL)

Sophie was on Alan Titchmarsh yesterday when she performed Heartbreak. And what a wonderful performance it was! (i kept wondering why Alan Titchmarsh was such a familiar name, and then i realised my grandmother has a book written by him, Rosie - it's a sweet little book.)

"LOVE HEIST" - Sophie Ellis-Bextor's new song

I think its called Love Heist. Its not on the list of songs that we have right now. It's a brand new song alright. It sounds very country disco to me.. It got me all tingly! You'll love it!
Its very Groovejet meets Murder meets Catch You, with a tinge of theaudience! Yum! Its very very different from what she did on Trip The Light Fantastic (correction, what she released on Trip The Light Fantastic)

EDIT - this is the new single which will be out in Jan next year. Thankfully the single hasn't leaked in full. My inside source confirmed that it is a new song, and it was recorded freshly - 2 or 3 weeks ago. I'm still unsure about who the producer is. But we'll soon find out.

I just collected a few responses from here and there (PJ, UKMix, SEB-online, Youtube)

• The Johnster - I'm not sure I really like it, it sounds as though its trying to be Not Fair meets Miss You Bow Wow. The middle 8 is nice, but the rest is fairly average in my opinion.
• SloMover - Return of Murder Sophie? Sort of that organic disco sound and all.
• Nunya B - I really like it (shocking, I know). Same lyrical themes as Catch You, totally different genre. The chorus is really catchy but not obvious.
• 3Xs - Oh wow I really like this! Glad she is going back to that Murder sound, that was her best song imho.
• Axie - Wow, it sounds great. Like a return to roots without recycling old material. I love it!
• dominic spez - Why is everyone saying this is a return to her Murder sound? It doesn't sound anything like Muder. Sounds fab though.
• SockMonkey - Great track. Love it. Wouldn't be a hit single, but I already want a proper version! It's definitely an album track or a b-side as opposed to single material.
• aMusicListener - Sounds a little 'demo' but is still amazing. It can't be the new single. She said it was coming out by January.
• Ice Cream Skies - I like it very much.
• toby3000 - love it, I can't wait to have it on CD in 2014....
• Vignesh - Love it!! Cnt wait for new Sophie Ellis Bextor!
• IceAngel - Why is her music so perfect for catwalk stuff? They put her songs in a lot of reports from fashion shows etc hehe Cool song

Heartbreak Make Me A Dancer - my review

"HEARTBREAK (MAKE ME A DANCER)" has probably been on of the most highly anticipated collaborations of the year. It brought together posh pop Sexy Ellis-Bextor and the new sensation Freemasons, the production team whih previously worked their magic on Kylie's "The One", Kelly Rowlands "Work" and Beyonce's "Green Light", "Ring The Alarm", "Déjà Vu" and "Beautiful Liar". Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer) seems to be a sum of it all, the best from all their previous work put into one song.

The song comes with a great new video from Chris Sweeny, with an electrifying performance from Sophie. As if looking simply like a goddess was not enough, Sophie has bit of a dance routine which she pulls off with style. If those James Bond movie makers are watching this video, they know who the next "bond girl" is.. The special effects in the video are worth watching over a million times. Its a simple yet effective affair which finds Lady Bextor teasing the camera and throwing sleek, chic shapes. Its the perfect accompaniment to this stomper of a song.

Sophie will be doing a live public appearance at G-A-Y, Heaven in London on the 20th of June. The song is out digitally on the 21st and physically on the 22nd.

Is this going to take Sophie to whole new heights? Is this going to make the Freemasons finally worth all the hype. Is Sophie going to get her second #1 with this? Only you can tell... Make sure you get your copies, cos this time its doubly important - not just for Sophie, but for the Freemasons as well.

concrete news about the album and single

First of all, before i make any comments and before Sophie gets to read anything that might seem a little negative, i would want to say that i completely understand Sophie's decision to spend time with her baby. Good luck with the baby Sophie.

Anyway, Sophie stopped filming the video for Sophia Loren. Only a few shots were done before she decided that she wouldn't release the single now. In fact, Sophia Loren might not even be a single. By then the hype would have died down and it would be foolishness to release it as a single. Too bad! That was one hell of a song, and it would have been a smash hit!! There goes another good song down the drain. But the song will still make it onto the album. Thank god for that! It would be criminal to scrap it!! I do hope fascination decide to leak that song so fans could enjoy listening to it in HQ.

Sophie had a long discussion with her manager, and he understood her decision and asked her to concentrate on her baby for the time being. The first single might be some unknown song which might come out sometime around Sept 09! And the album is probably going to come out late 09 or early 2010!!!

Anyway, on the bright side, Sophie and her management may decide to leave a few demo recordings on her MySpace. Keep your eyes peeled for anything new on her MySpace.

In the meantime, might i interest you in a fresh Sophie song??? I did post about Sophie being featured on Junior Caldera's "Debut" (thats the title) album. A remix of the song leaked onto the internet!! Sophie sounds F-A-N-T-A-B-U-L-O-U-S!!! I love how her voice has matured so well. She can reach such high notes now..wow!! I think Sophie's 4th album has a whole lot of surprises, if they sound anything like Off & On, Heartbreak, Sophia Loren and Can't Fight This Feeling.. oh thats (probably) what the Junior Caldera song is called...

Rimmel Advert 2 (with Sophie's new song in it)

Okay, one word - HOT!!! I didn't think the next ad would get better, but i was wrong!! This ad totally rocks! And guess what, its got Sophie's "new" (yes you heard it right, her brand new song, which might end up being the first single) backing the advert!!

The song begins with a "Sophia, Sophia..." and its got an even faster groove than Catch You. I'm thinking this song would go #1 if its promoted well... crossing my fingers!!!

New Song Title Surfaced

Sophie had recorded songs with Richard X, Groove Armada, Calvin Harris and Freemasons for her GH which was planned for last year. She loved all the songs so much that she decided to go with an album instead. Sophie is also planning on working with Liam from Sneaker Pimps, Dimitri and Greg Alexander again.

The track she recorded with Richard X is called I Still Believe In Magic. There's also another track title that surfaced recently - In The Name Of Lust. This isn't confirmed at all. It surfaced on Wikipedia. It sounds like something that she has recorded with Liam or Dimitri. There is another Calvin collaboration called Calling It Love. So now we hopefully have 5 song titles. The album should be out by September. Fingers crossed that we're going to get a mixture of Read My Lips & Trip The Light Fantastic...
