The Story behind "Not Giving Up On Love"

Armin tells us about how the track came together... It's nice that he played every layer in the song. People like me who make music would enjoy watching this. (PS - if you want to listen to what i make, head over to http://myspace.com/kaushikmusic. Some of my friends and professional musicians have heard my stuff, and they seemed to like it; not that i'm bragging or anything)

Here's the link to the making of Not Giving Up On Love - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXA_1tNsbes&feature=player_embedded

He also talks about Sophie "Ellix" Bextor (it's funny how he pronounces her name that way) and the Nervo twins.

artwork, tracklist, release date and tour news

Phew! Suddenly there's so much to cover in one day.

Anyway, here's the artwork for Sophie's new single, and i must say, it's GORGEOUS! I'm a little upset that it isn't following the black and white trend, but who cares. It's such an awesome picture of Sophie.... WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!! If you find the HQ somewhere, please post a link in the comments.

Tweets and Bittersweet's radio play

Bittersweet may have underperformed in the UK, but the song is still getting some airplay internationally.

Radio Express has some sort of World Chart Show. Bittersweet is currently #29 there, spending 4 weeks on the charts.
2 weeks ago - #37
Last week - #35
This week - #29
http://www.radioexpress.com/public/content.php?loc=chart_worldchart.php

Remember those Lebanese radio charts? Well, Bittersweet is #4 on NRJ Radio spending 6 weeks in the charts.

It has gone up by 5 spots.

Bittersweet is currently #18 on the Mix FM (Lebanese) charts. It has dropped by 6 spots.

Hopefully the single gets some more airplay. If the song can manage to stick around, even if only on local radio stations, it's pretty good. The second single will be out soon.

The original plan was to have a single in July. Hopefully Sophie will stick to it.

Here's a little twitter conversaion between Sophie and the Nervo Twins
N: @SophieEB Hey babe! Is it true that NGUOL is going to be your second single?? (don't get a girl excited now!!) big kiss /L
S: @nervomusic tis true! Have you got a copy of the latest radio edit or extended mix? X
N: @SophieEB Armin sent me something a few weeks ago - sounding amazing!! Can you send me the latest copies you have plse!! Big kiss!! /L

Sophie to work with When Love Takes Over girls?

Maybe this is the "new song" which my source was talking about:
Now, Liv’s dealing with accountants and lawyers for the first time in her professional life and lining up new songs for Sophie Ellis-Bextor and the recent X-Factor winner, Alexandra Burke.
SOURCE: http://blogs.whatsonstage.com/2009/08/24/love-song-to-liverpool/
Looks like Liv and Mim (Miriam Nervo and Olivia Nervo, the girls who wrote Kelly Rowland's "When Love Takes Over") are working with Sophie. Seems to me like Sophie is desperately looking for a hit, and she is working with everyone possible. Good strategy, i hope she doesn't go overboard though.

It's been so long, and still we don't have a confirmed list of producers for the album. I know i'm making a big issue of who the producers will be, but going by what Sophie said (about this being more dance oriented etc.,) seems like this is going to be more commercial than TTLF. So i guess the producers she picks are important.

I wonder if she'll come online sometime soon and tell us something about the album. As far as i know, she hasn't logged into her official forums since a really long time. Her twitter has no updates. And her MySpace is just copy-pasting the stuff from her official website.

Also, there hasn't been any confirmation about Calvin's new mix of Off & On, or that second Sophie/Freemasons track.
