Pop star Sophie Ellis Bextor was surrounded by fans in Alfriston at the weekend as she turned on the village Christmas Tree lights.
The multi platinum singer/songwriter met with the crowds on Saturday as she signalled the start of a traditional family Christmas.
Sophie, whose family live in Sussex and whose father Robin Bextor took over Alfriston's Moonrakers earlier this year, spent many happy times in Alfriston as a child.
The mum-of-one, who is pregnant with her second child, is known for a string of massive pop hits.
On Saturday Sophie, who is an ambassador for the Child Poverty Action charity, collected donations in exchange for giving fans the chance to have a chat, and get an autograph or photograph.
Afterwards the singer enjoyed a family celebration with her brother, two sisters and other relatives.
