Acoustica (pt. 2)

Here are Groovejet and Today The Sun's On Us (live and acoustic). It's tagged as track #5 and track #6 with the Acoustica album cover for your iTunes. I'll check if i still have a couple of SEB's older stuff. I know she performed Mixed Up World and I Won't Change You acoustic a long time ago.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Acoustica

I know it's going to be a while before Not Giving Up is released. So i decided to compile a couple of Sophie's best acoustic performances. Everytime i listen to these acoustic versions of her songs, i keep wishing she'd make a fan-edition of Straight To The Heart with just acoustic versions of all the songs and a few of her singles. I don't know if that will ever happen, but if there are any Soph fans out there who want something like this too, here's a compilation just for your iTunes.

ACOUSTICA
1. Not Giving Up (Live Acoustic)
2. Bittersweet (Live Acoustic)
3. Getting Away With It (Live Acoustic)
4. Heartbreak Make Me A Dancer (Live Acoustic)

There are a couple of other songs that she has performed live with an acoustic setting - Today The Sun's On Us, Groovejet, Murder On The Dancefloor, If You Go etc., Look up these songs on youtube. They are equally brilliant. If you want mp3's for the same, leave a request and i'll have them uploaded for you.

Acoustic performance of Bittersweet

My god, it sounds divine! She should record an acoutic version of this song and release it as an iTunes bonus or something. I like this version so much more than the heavy Freemasons production. Hmmm, come to think of it, i liked the acoustic version of Heartbreak better than the Freemasons production too... Maybe her 5th album should be acoustic-electronica. Like Madonna's American Life album.

Anyway, you can watch the performance here, if you've missed it
(many thanks to Paul)

The acoustic version is brilliant isn't it. Its got a whole new emotion to the song. When she is performing this song live on her tour (if she tours) she should start the song acoustically just with the guitar, then the drums follow in the first chorus. In the second verse the strings follow. Then the electronic guitars at the bridge and 2nd chorus and then immense breakdown can be the exact same thing from the radio edit and then all instruments start fading out slowly as she does a double chorus, and by the end of the double chorus when she's doing the "oooh oooh"s its just acoustic.... Like what she did with By Chance at Shepards Bush Empire! Sophie are you reading this....
